Fall 2018 sees the release of the next foil-only Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game Hidden Summoners set, and it comes with 3 new deck themes with multiple summoning methods! Each deck strategy introduced with Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game Hidden Summoners combines the flexibility of Link Summons with the raw power of a different Summon type. Here's what you can look forward to this autumn!
Holy Phoenix of Nephthys rises from the ashes and is reborn as a Ritual Monster! Both the phoenix and its companion Nephthys Butleress make the leap into the new era. Both have a Ritual Monster based on the original card, but also have their own cadre of Level 2 Companions that let you destroy your cards to use their effects. Destroy another card in this theme and the second ability activates in your next Standby Phase, granting you 2 great effects for the price of one. The Link Monsters in this theme are based on summoning multiple Ritual Monsters. One collects the parts you need for Ritual Summoning or revives fallen monsters, while the other gets stronger depending on how many Ritual Monsters you used to summon it.
Tiny pranksters who are up to no good! They may look cute and innocent, but the 3 main effect monsters of this strategy can combine 6 different paths to chaos. This strategy uses Fusion Monsters with Link Monsters, and the monsters in the deck give you more material when you use them to Fusion and Link Summon. Each of the Fusion and Link monsters can be Tributed for a special effect. The strongest of them can be offered as a Tribute to replicate the effects of Raigeki or Harpy Leather Duster.
Last but not least, Zombie Monsters based on Japanese Legends manifest al new Synchro Summoning strategy. The deck uses the "Synchro climb" strategy with a special twist: When you have "climbed" to the highest Synchro monster, you are able to summon the previous Synchro monster and use its effects as soon as the current monster is destroyed. This strategy can spawn all Synchro Monsters in one turn thanks to the receivers that Special Summon themselves from the Graveyard. The Link Monster this strategy reduces the ATK and DEF of the monsters it shows each time your opponent destroys a Synchro Monster - incredible.
